Enjoy and improve your English with free English conversation groups and English conversation partners!

The Portland English Language Academy offers our students free English conversation groups and free one-to-one English conversation partners everyday of the week.

PELA students enjoy free Conversation Groups each day after class. During these Conversation Groups, students speak with local Americans and practice and improve their English in a relaxed environment. Students get to use their English, learn about Portland life and culture, and make new friends. This free service is open to all PELA students every day of the week.

We also offer free, one-to-one Conversation Partners. Conversation Partners are American university students who speak with and tutor English students at our school. PELA students meet their private conversation partner during weekly, 1 hour conversation practice sessions. This free service is open to English+Volunteer and English+Internship students who are enrolled for 8 weeks or more.

Our daily Conversation Groups and Conversation Partners are popular activities, helping our students quickly improve their conversational English!
